Our take
The P2 is Aqara's Thread-enabled motion sensor that combines PIR motion detection with a built-in light (lux) sensor, so you can trigger lights only when it's actually dark. Because it speaks Matter over Thread, it works directly with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings without Aqara's own hub. It does require a Matter controller and Thread border router, which is the main setup hurdle.
